Birds Georgia launched the Georgia Birding Trail in 2026, the centennial anniversary of the birds-focused nonprofit. Designed to connect birders of all experience levels, especially beginners, families and visitors, the trail is designed to highlight some of the state’s most spectacular birding locations and diverse habitats. The goal is to draw and engage nature enthusiasts, support local businesses and stimulate tourism revenue.
Each site is picked for its birding opportunities, amenities and accessibility. Once fully developed, the trail will have sites statewide, with loops spanning Georgia’s six major ecoregions.
